How fitting for a Navy Wife to give birth on December 7th.
First strike- Joe was not home. He was in Vegas. Lucky him.
Second strike- Ian had been sick all weekend- vomiting, not able to keep anything down.
Third- The girls had to get to school. Monday morning.
Forth- at 5:45am I make a call to L&D thinking my water broke.
Clara decided to come early- regardless of the fact that Daddy was not home! The morning of December 7th was chaotic- not only was Joe not home, but Ian was very sick- barfing all over the place, the girls had to get to school, and Clara decided to break my water!
Thank goodness for our wonderful friends! One took Emma to school and took Ian to Urgent Care with Mara in tow after getting me to L&D at the hospital. Another friend stayed with me through the surgery (I had a C-section). Another friend (who just happened to be the command Ombudsman) contacted the command to help Joe get approval to come home. Another friend drove up to Bellingham to pick Joe up from the airport and then drove him all the way to the island to see me and Clara at the hospital. All I have to say is that they are awesome!!!
